According to Sangestan Mahallat, Seyyed Hamid Kalantari, Deputy of Cooperative Affairs of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, during his trip to Mahallat, held an intimate meeting with cooperative members of this city.

He said in this meeting: The export product must be competitive and of high quality, and this can be achieved by increasing productivity.

He continued: Our commercial cooperatives need a brand, the weakness of the brand must be removed. Currently, some cooperatives do not have good packaging, do not advertise, and their products are not known in the market.

Kalantari said: Instead of exporting Iranian stone in raw form to Italy, which is processed and exported under the Italian brand, the Iranian brand should be strengthened by forming export cooperatives for processed stones.

This official said: Only by changing attitude and behavior can we achieve the goals of resistance economy and create wealth and real added value. One of our biggest weaknesses is not paying attention to stone waste. Stone waste can be used in different production sectors and create added value with it.

He said: Mahalat city has many capabilities in the fields of tourism, agriculture, mining, transportation, geography and university facilities.

Stating that the main axis is the development of human and social capital, he added: Mahalat city has a high human capital.

He said: Mahalat city does not have large industries such as petrochemicals, refineries and steel, but it has medium economic capacity, small and medium industries, which can become a model city of the country with this capacity.

In the continuation of this meeting, Mohammad Taghi Abai, the General Director of Labor and Social Welfare Cooperative of the province, said: Out of the total of 17 top cooperative companies in Central Province, five cooperative companies belong to Mahalat city. Twenty-five percent of the economy of this city is managed in cooperatives.

Abai continued: "Kohbar" mining cooperative company has been introduced as the best cooperative company in the country. This cooperative company was established in 1985 and has created 200 job opportunities in the mining sector and 400 job opportunities in the stone processing sector.
